Smart phones. Almost everyone has them now, so what are we (as a business) doing about that? How are your customers interacting with you? Chances are higher and higher it’s with their mobile device.

As of April 21, 2015, Google has modified their search algorithm to gauge how mobile-friendly a website is. This means that users on a cell phone will most likely see different results than users on a desktop. The sites that best cater to the device in the user’s hand will have a distinct advantage in search results because they offer relevance, high quality content, and are optimized for the screen they’ll be viewed on.

If you’re not sure, here’s a quick test provided by Google.

Is your website mobile-ready? If not, we are happy to help bring you back into Google’s good graces. We recommend responsive design, which works on all mobile devices. A responsive site design is coded to have a flexible layout that responds and fits to almost any screen. You can test whether a site is responsive by grabbing a corner (on a desktop) and making the page shrink and expand. Does the content move around to best fit the screen size you’re creating? If not, you should probably give us a call. Your rankings may be dropping even as you read this page!
